Growing Vegetable Soup is a great book that shows the different seeds, how the plants look from tiny seedlings to the different shapes of the leaves, the flowers that the plants make, and the colors of the vegetables.  The story ends with chopping and adding all of the vegetables to make a lovely vegetable soup.  There is even a recipe for homemade vegetable soup on the back inside cover of the book!
